Stories
End Polio flag raising
As World Polio Day is marked on October 24, Rotary is celebrating more than 30 years' effort to lead the global polio eradication campaign and its success in forming partnerships capable of completing this massive goal. Polio cases have been reduced by more than 99.9 percent worldwide but the risk is returning.
There’s great cause for optimism on the polio front — but also some staggering new events that have further raised the stakes. Over the past few months, new polio outbreaks have occurred in Israel, the United Kingdom and, most recently, in the New York City area. These stories are frightening, but in every case, the response is clear — vaccines work, and if polio is spreading, we need to make sure the most at-risk people have kept their vaccinations up to date.

Through our commitment, generosity, and sheer determination, we will #EndPolio.

On Wednesday, October 19, join Rotarians from the Rotary Guelph Trillium Club for breakfast at Rise & Shine Restaurant, 44 Macdonell Street at 7:30am, followed by the Rotary flag raising at City Hall at 9:30am.
Blood Donation challenge

Donating blood/plasma makes a meaningful impact for patients in our community and across the country. Join our Rotary Blood Donor campaign in Guelph from October 25-29, 2022.

Blood/plasma is needed to keep people alive in emergencies and also for those needing regular blood transfusions.
