Garage Sales are back!! Host or visit the Rotary Treasure Trail on May 14 to help fundraise for our sister club, Rotary Guelph South. Proceeds will help support great causes.
Rotary Treasure Trail is essentially a large garage sale hosted by Rotarians and their friends and neighbours and it is happening in Guelph on Saturday, May 14. To participate as a seller, co-seller, donor of items or as a potential buyer (and we know you love garage sales!), just visit GuelphSouthRotary.ca or scan the QR code below.
Can you host your own yard sale on May 14 and donate the proceeds to Rotary?
If NOT, can you donate some goods to the cause? (Drop off location 8 Wimbledon Rd., Guelph, contact Shelley Adlington 226-820-6446. Pick up can also be arranged.)
Can you come to our kick-off on Friday, May 13 at 4:00pm to support like-minded Rotarians with this fundraiser? (Details below)
Can you visit our Rotary Treasure Trail locations on Saturday, May 14 between 7:30am and 1pm to buy a few items and help support the cause? (Maps will be given out at the kick-off or emailed to anyone who asks via the Guelph South website.)
Our kick-off will be held on Friday, May 13, at 4:00 pm at Food4Kids, 503 Imperial Rd., Unit 5. Mike Schreiner MPP is attending (as it is a GREEN event with a theme of reducing, reusing and helping our planet!) and we will have a speaker to underscore this. This is where everyone can come and pick up their Treasure Trail passport to the actual yard sales (also available by email).
The Upper Grand District School Board is hosting a celebration of Martha's life on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30pm, both in-person and online. We sorely miss Martha, a member of our Rotary club for over 30 years and head of UGDSB for 26.
There is a Ukrainian youth Camp in Acton (14109 4th line) that this year is looking at having 500 Ukrainian youth this summer. They are looking for financial assistance or volunteers to help. I'm trying to let some of the area community organizations like Rotary Clubs know as you already do a lot to help the community and some of your members might have ideas about getting them some help. andrea.kardasz@cym.org is who reached out to us. cym.org
The annual Rotary Guelph Duck Race is back in virtual format for 2022, and has once again chosen Food4Kids Guelph as their main beneficiary. Get your tickets now!
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Guelph-Wellington (the Monday Night club) and Letter M, we are thrilled to announce that tickets are now available online for the annual Got Duck race, an important community event and fundraiser for over 30 years.
For the second year in a row, proceeds will support Food4Kids Guelph, a local Rotary-inspired charity working to help combat children’s food insecurity within our community. With the impacts of COVID-19 and rising cost of food, the amazing work this charity is doing is more important now than ever! Get your tickets here.
This year, one lucky winner will receive the grand prize of $500/month of groceries for a full year! There are also eight early bird prizes being drawn weekly, increasing in value each week. Can you guess what they’re for? We’ll give you a hint – doing any home improvement this summer? These prizes will surely help you foot the bill…
This is a great way to support our community, and maybe take home some great prizes! Will you help us spread the word?
The more tickets we sell, the more we can give to help kids in our community access the healthy food they need and deserve. And the more tickets you buy, the more chances to win! We look forward to opening the flood gates!
In 2021, the Duck Race contributed $26,400 to Food4Kids Guelph. We are aiming to match or beat that number this year!

We are pleased to announce there will soon be a new forest in Guelph!!!
Starting in 2023, Guelph’s Earth Day weekend will focus on tree planting in the South End of Guelph. The chosen site is a 9.3 acre area off Clair Road.
This is a partnership between the City of Guelph, Trees For Guelph, and the Rotary Club of Guelph.
Citizens will be encouraged to participate in this fun family event that will include food vendors and entertainment. Approximately 6,000 trees will be planted over the next 3 years with a focus on naturalization using native species and pollinators. Trees such as native oaks, sugar maples, and shrubs like serviceberries are popular with pollinators and are well suited to restoring our natural heritage system. This new forest will help clean our air and water, and become a home for nesting birds and other animals. When the forest becomes mature, it will sequester approximately 6,000 tons of carbon every year.
Extra bonus: the sugar maples we plant together can also be tapped by future generations to enjoy!
For more information, contact David Latreille or Carolyn Weatherson of the Environment Committee
Rotary in person meetings begin April 6th at the ICC. We will be providing concurrent Zoom meetings as well for a period of time.
