NOTE THESE UPCOMING DATES

Friday, August 15th at 12:15pm. Our District Governor, Susanne Zbinden will attend our lunch meeting and share District 7080 plans for this year. We are hoping for great attendance at this meeting. Bring a friend.

Friday, August 15th at 2:30pm. Immediately following our club meeting, club members are invited to briefly join our Awards Committee at the home of Bob and Sharon Ireland where Bob will be presented with a very special Rotary District Award for his legendary impact in our community and during his 44 years of Rotary service.

Friday, August 22nd at 12 noon. As per our longstanding tradition, our weekly club meeting will be held offsite at Riverside Park, under the big tent, to enjoy the Ribfest 2025 opening ceremony and a chance to socialize with Rotarians and honoured guests. Not to mention enjoying a fabulous lunch you can purchase from any of the amazing ribbers and other food vendors. Suggested that you aim to arrive by about 11:30am. Be sure to stop by our Rotary Club of Guelph tent as well!

Tom Funk - 45 years of Rotary service
President Marva warmly acknowledge Tom for his amazing service to our club over so many years! It's people like Tom who have made our club legendary.

Ruth Thatcher - another living legend
We noticed a wonderful online tribute by Guelph General Hospital to our very own Ruth Thatcher, a member of our club for 20 years as well as being a “Rotary Ann” for years before that, working alongside her late husband Ken in our Rotary Club of Guelph. Read the story about Ruth on our website!

An exciting bonus in this project is our sales collaboration with the Enactus Club from the University of Guelph. We connected with them through our club's Vocational Service support. The students are now promoting and selling our Rotary coffee alongside their award-winning, innovative Brewed Beauty products made from repurposed coffee grounds. Here they are at the Guelph Farmers' Market on August 9, 2025.

Royal City Masters 2025 Chess Tournament a resounding success
Our Assistant District Governor for the Rotary Cluster Guelph-Wellington, Mahmud Hassain, was one of the key drivers bringing this very large chess tournament to Guelph. It was held at the University of Guelph from August 1-6 and attracted players of all ages from across Canada and many international top players, too. President Marva attended part of the event and was totally impressed, as was Terrie Jarvis. We were also delighted to see the strong Rotary presence, as well as support from several other sponsors.

OUR SPEAKER ON AUGUST 8, 2025
Grace Sant from the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, located on the borderline of Guelph and Puslinch, gave an informative and heartwarming insight to this wonderful charity - a magical place in her words. Plan a visit with your family! https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.ca/
