Reinvigorating our club's Vocational Service with the CEC
Retired school principal Barb Holmes, the longest serving female Rotarian in Guelph (since 1991), is leading the charge to reinvigorate our club's Avenue of Vocational Service, and rebuilding our relationship with the CEC (Career and Education Council) as one of our partners.
From her current location in Florida, Barb had pre-recorded a wonderful video introduction to the topic, explaining that Vocational Service is about Rotarians giving back to the community by sharing their special experience and expertise with others who would benefit from their insights and advice.
We then heard from Kelly Schafer, ED of the CEC and three of her team members. It was an informative and lively session.
Updates will be coming soon on how and where we can each offer our Vocational Service help.

The Rotary-endorsed SECRET 3K event coming up on March 8th
"I don't want to run scared, and nor do other women and girls,"says Ashley Burr, the volunteer Race Director for this run/walk on International Women's Day. Ashley visited our club to explain the event and her personal passion for it. As a runner herself, she revealed some of her personal safety concerns and experiences while running on roads and trails right here in Guelph.
