The two guest speakers (both retired educators) at our club meeting on October 4, 2024 represented the small, newish chapter of SCAN! Guelph. Their message resonated with many of us in the room who have children and grandchildren, and our worries about how climate change is impacting the world they will inherit from us. They touched our inner sense of genuinely wanting to "do something" to make a positive difference about this existential climate threat, but not knowing where to even begin as individuals. They extended a gentle invitation to attend the monthly meetings of SCAN! Guelph to meet and chat with like-minded seniors. This alone would demonstrate to young people that we care about their future world, and along the way, who knows ... perhaps we will find ways where our collective voices could make a difference. Seniors are a large and important voting demographic, after all! SCAN! Guelph meets regularly on the fourth Thursday of every month. All are welcome. - The next meeting is Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 2pm.
