CLUB'S VISIONING EXERCISE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 22, 2025.
17 of our club members attended this 5-hour, productive workshop that was skillfully facilitated by four experienced Rotarians from our District 7080, specially trained in leading this Rotary International-endorsed Visioning Exercise. The workshop goal was Step 1, to "Envision a desired future", namely, what we would like our club to be in five years' time. Step 2 in the process will be to "Communicate and Consult" with the rest of the club for collective ownership of the vision. After that, Step 3 will be to "Develop the strategic priorities" as the foundation for Planning and Action, etc.

OUR GUEST SPEAKER ON MARCH 21, 2025 - BLAIR PEBERDY FROM ALECTRA
L-R: Brian Martin, Lawrie Jones, Blair Peberdy, Jane Armstrong
We were delighted to welcome back our former club member, Jane Armstrong, who introduced Blair Peberdy, the Senior Vice President of Regulatory, Government & Corporate Relations at Alectra Inc.
Jane has been on Alectra's board of directors for over six years, and before that served on the board of Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. for over 12 years, so she knows Blair well.
Blair reminded us that we mostly take electricity for granted in our lives ... until it's not there. This was an opportunity to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes regarding our electrical supply, for now and also for planning into the future, as even more electricity will be needed based on growth and decarbonization, as society aims to reduce the use of fossil fuels.
Blair's fascinating and information talk was summarized using AI, and may be read HERE.
