Tracey introduced special guests Julie and Mark.
Tracey is a member of the GGH Foundation Board.
Mark has been the CEO of Guelph General Hospital for 8 months. He explained that it is a pivotal time for the hospital. Rapid growth of Guelph, no place to expand on current site. Landlocked. It is the second year of a 10–15-year project to build a new hospital elsewhere in Guelph. The old would be decommissioned. He is proud to come to Guelph because of belief in Community hospital. The government funds bricks and mortar, external. Internal equipment/furniture is through fundraising support from organizations like Rotary. An exciting journey and he invites us and others on the journey. Share and support the project whenever it gets off the ground. He'll keep us informed.
Julie is the CEO of the Guelph General Hospital Foundation. She supports the GGH's work. Partnership with Rotary over the years has been significant. Tour de Guelph raised 174K 2023, far exceeding the goal. Encourages our engagement June 2024.
Both presentations were followed by a Q&A.
