At our past club meeting on Friday, April 28th, our fellow Rotarian Jaya James from Hope House gave a memorable talk about community support, hope, and doing things differently. Last week, Helmuth Slisarenko spoke warmly of his 30 year friendship with Jim Anderson who passed away on April 15, 2023. May Jim's memory inspire us all!

Our club is already looking ahead for various Club Service roles in 2023-2024. One key role is someone to lead our Program Committee and arrange the weekly presentations at our club. Our Indigenous Awareness Committee is seeking a Chairperson or Co-chairs for Rotary year 2023-2024, to lead a dedicated and motivated team of volunteers already in place. Please contact either Lucy Mutharia or Dianne Dance. See theJob Description.
Our Lobsterfest Committee is starting work on our club's 42nd Lobsterfest dinner/dance/auction, scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2023. More committee members are needed to help with a variety of tasks.Email Marty Fairbairn or Rosemary Clark.
Our Canada Day Committee will hold its next planning meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd, online from 4-5pm.Our club will be doing fireworks at Riverside Park once again on July 1st. A few more club members are needed to help with arrangements.Email Matt Webster.
Our Good Games 2023 Committee will hold its next planning meeting on Thursday, May 4th, online from 4-5pm. Our club will be running the beer tent at The Good Games 2023, Canada's Biggest International Masters Multi-Sport Festival taking place in Guelph, Ontario from July 8-9, 2022. Our youngest club member, Aidan Harris, just returned from attending RYLA (the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy). He was very motivated by the experience and looks forward to sharing more details in a couple of weeks.
Our Sergeant At Arms found Anne MacKay "guilty" of being Too Good To Be True for her absolutely amazing service in providing us with fabulous programs every week for the past two years. Thank you, Anne. You are a super star!

It was also great having our former club member Sue Ricketts return for a visit with news about the brand new Rotary Club of Cambridge Sunset where she is a Charter Member and now their Treasurer!
