Successful Rotary Forest tree planting 2023

Saturday, April 22, 2023 was a drizzly, cool day for Earth Day tree planting at the new Rotary Forest in Guelph's south end but the event always goes ahead, rain or shine. 400 eager tree planters, young and old, showed up to plant 1,400 trees and it was great fun ... mud and all.

Daffodils on The Hanlon - our Rotary connection

On Hwy 6 (The Hanlon) near Speedvale and also between Laird and Kortright, many daffodils are in full bloom on the west embankments. They bring a special smile to those who know the Rotary connection. Learn how our former member, Charlie Whittaker, planted bulbs throughout Guelph.

Brunch at the Barn

Join the Rotary Club of Guelph South at their first annual "Brunch at the Barn" on Sunday, June 4th at the beautiful Barn Swallow Fields at Thatcher Farms in support of local & international charities. Enjoy a delicious brunch buffet, musical entertainment, live and silent auction, plus fun games. Tickets available HERE.

During the live auction you will have the opportunity to support one or more these five charities and receive a tax receipt.

Remembering Walter Zielonko

Dr. Walter Zielonko, a former member of our Rotary Club of Guelph for 33 years from 1971 to 2004, passed away on April 19, 2023 at the age of 91. He was well known and highly respected in Guelph as a psychiatrist, including over 20 years of service at Homewood and then in private practice until 2019. We send our condolences to his wife and family.
