CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR BILL STEVENS on Saturday, January 10, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at the UofG Arboretum Centre (off College Road) on Saturday, January 10th at 11am. Friday, January 9, 2026 - packing up the light strings dropped from the high trees by Skyjack. This shift will finish by 11am and members can still attend our Rotary meeting at the ICC at 12:15pm!
Margaret Trainor was delighted to receive a photo greeting signed by Prime Minister Carney after meeting him in person at an event last October. Margaret has a long history of involvement in politics, so this is a very special memento. Margaret's grandson (and our club member) Aiden Harris is in the photo, and so is our MP Dominique O'Rourke.
GETTING TO KNOW “THE CARPENTERS' CREW OF GUELPH, ELORA & FERGUS”
At our club meeting on Friday, December 6, 2025, we were introduced to “The Carpenters' Crew.”They are a group of recently retired and semi-retired men who have a desire to help out and give back to the people in their communities. They are men from varying backgrounds and work experiences with a passion for hands-on work (carpentry, painting, home renovations, garden clearing, etc.) and they offer their time and talent FOR FREE to help charities and financially-strapped individuals who cannot afford to pay for professional services. Many of the crew members come from a background in the world of contracting or home improvements, or simply love getting their hands dirty. The warm bonds of friendship amongst their members are evident in hearing them speak, and they are a treasure in our community. Do take a look at The Carpenters' Crew website.
