In an exciting development, our club is now collaborating with this student-led team at the University of Guelph to cross-sell their “Brewed Beauty” products at various markets alongside our club's “Good Coffee For A Better World.”
How did this come about?
Early in 2025, the Rotary Club of Guelph awarded a grant to Enactus Guelph, student-led club at the University of Guelph. The grant was in support of their highly entrepreneurial sustainability project named “Brewed Beauty”. The initiative repurposes used coffee grounds from campus kitchens to use it as an ingredient in beauty products. Their project went on to win Gold in the Enactus Regional competition, and Semi-Finalist in the Enactus National competition, competing against a total of 52 projects from across Canada.
The coincidence of our two clubs each working on a coffee project at the same time did not go unnoticed, and collaboration was born.
Our motivation in supporting this student club is based on our club's deep commitment to providing vocational service to young people. “Vocational Service” is one of the five Avenues of Service of Rotary International.
In addition, our club aims to deepen our service to Enactus Guelph by offering valuable mentoring opportunities and helpful connections, whilst also introducing the Enactus Guelph club to the Rotaract Guelph club (also at the university) to seek and support potential synergies between them.
