Thursday, July 30, 2026 marked another year of Rotary raising its “Eradicate Human Trafficking” flag at Guelph City Hall to raise awareness about this issue. Four invited speakers each gave a short, meaningful speech - Mayor Cam Guthrie, MP Dominique O'Rourke, Guelph Police Chief Cobey, and Vicki Oluntundun who highlighted the plight of sex trafficking victims. The flag was then ceremoniously raised.

The observers included several Guelph City Police officers from the Human Trafficking and Intimate Personal Violence squad, Rotarians from the three clubs of Guelph South (who started this joint-club committee five years ago), Guelph Trillium, and Guelph, community members, plus the six Gr 11-12 students attending Guelph's summer work placement with the Guelph Police Service to explore future service and law enforcement careers.
